Light and shadow

Bauhaus war stets ein großes Thema für mich - klare Linien, wenig dekorative Elemente. Eine ruhige Linie ist immer noch maßgebend, wenn es um Einrichtung, Schmuck und Fotografie etc. geht. Meine Vorbilder in der Fotografie sind Edward Weston, Alfred Stieglitz und Paul Strand, um nur einige zu nennen.

Dann habe ich Rachel Ashwell entdeckt, mit ihrem liebevollen Auge für Details, ihren shabby chic Dekorationen, Stoffen, Blumen, Möbel mit Patina - alles in Pastellfarben. Sehr romantisch! Ihr neues Buch "Shabby Chic Interiors" inspiriert mich ganz besonders.

Derzeit versuche ich, beide Stile so zu kombinieren, dass klare Linien erkennbar bleiben... Auf dem Foto habe ich moderne Keramik auf einem antiken Spiegel dekoriert - der Kontrast zwischen alt und neu sowie Licht und Schatten kommt hier optimal zur Geltung. Auch in meinen eigenen Fotografien war Licht stets wesentlich.


Bauhaus was always important to me - clear lines, few decorative elements. Simple lines are still essential to me in interior decoration, jewelry, photography etc. My inspiration in photography were i.e. Edward Weston, Alfred Stieglitz and Paul Strand, to name a few.

Then I discovered Rachel Ashwell, with her loving eye for details, her shabby chic decorations, fabrics, flowers and used furniture - all in pastels. Very romantic ! Her new book "Shabby Chic Interiors" I find very inspiring.

At the moment, I try to combine both styles, so that clear lines are visible.. On this photo I decorated modern ceramics on an antique mirror - the contrast between old and new and light and shadow is splendid. In my own photography, light has always been elementary.
